PrecisionShooting.com is run by Precision Shooting Media Inc., a small business in Ontario, Canada. This page explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We follow Canada’s privacy law (PIPEDA) and anti-spam law (CASL).
What we collect
When you use the Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message. The form also records the date and time, the page you sent it from, your web browser type and your IP address, which helps us spot spam.
When you sign up for the newsletter: your email address and any name you choose to give. Our email service may also record whether a newsletter was opened and which links were clicked.
When you browse the site: like most websites, our hosting and security tools automatically log basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use these only to keep the site running and secure. We do not use advertising trackers or sell anything about your visit.
How we use it
- To read and reply to your messages.
- To send you the newsletter you asked for, and occasional news about books, courses and other Precision Shooting offerings.
- To keep the website secure and block spam and attacks.
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Services we use
A few trusted companies help us run the site and newsletter. They handle your information only to provide their service to us:
- IONOS – website hosting.
- AWeber and GoDaddy Email Marketing – newsletter sign-ups and delivery.
- Microsoft 365 (through GoDaddy) – our business email, where Contact form messages arrive.
- Wordfence – website security.
- Instagram (Meta) – our Instagram posts are shown on the site. Viewing them may load content from Instagram, which is covered by Meta’s own privacy policy.
Some of these companies store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies that it needs to work properly, load quickly and stay secure. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work for reading.
How long we keep it
Contact form messages are kept only as long as we need them to respond, and spam is deleted regularly. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter.
- See, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing us. We will respond within 30 days.
- Ask a question or raise a concern about how we handle your information. If we can’t resolve it, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
